WATSON technology at the service of food safety
Food traceability continues to be a major challenge in the agri-food sector, particularly in high-value products such as honey. Adulteration with added sugars threatens both producers and consumers, undermining trust in quality certifications like IGP Miel de Asturias.
WATSON aims to address this challenge with innovative Near Infrared Spectroscopy (NIR) technology to verify the authenticity of honey at every stage of the supply chain.
During the event, WATSON experts presented the results of a digital tool based on NIR technology, developed to detect added sugars in honey instantly. This solution offers multiple benefits:
